Well, I have survived the first 2 days of Crufts. Today is Whippet day, so I'm extra happy. Above is my fave photo of the show so far - the BOB winning Komondor decided he might try and stop and have a roll around whilst doing his triangle in the big ring ;o)

Well, it's part-way through day one of Crufts, and my feet are aching already!!! Looking forward to the KC Breeders' Competition Final and the Gundog group judging later.

Judging at Sheffield & District KA

I had a lovely day at Sheffield & District KA judging the Whippets. Sadly, it turns out that this is the last show that this society will be holding, which is such a shame, as it was very well attended with a great atmosphere.

My BOB winner was Jackie Whittaker-Crosby's bitch, Mulcair Musical Melody JW ShCM and I awarded BPIB to Sue & Fiona Mycroft's Supeta's Dazzalicous. I decided to hang around and cheer them on in BIS (it wasn't judged on the group system). I was really thrilled to see Dazzalicious take Best Puppy in Show under Mrs Liz Stannard in some very strong competition. Very well done Fiona and 'Effy' - you did us proud ;o)

A busy month ahead

March is traditionally a busy month in the world of dog shows - CRUFTS!!!

First things first, I'm off to Newark this weekend to judge the Whippets at Sheffield & District KA. Then heading off very early on Wednesday morning to meet with my Crufts Partner-in-Crime, Ida Bouwhuis at the Focus on Imaging fair at the NEC. Then it's Crufts for the next 4 very busy days.

Urban Dancer

A request from a very good friend brought a new photography challenge for me.

Kelly Holt is an exceptionally talented dancer who has also excelled in gymnastics and trampolining and more recently, as a cheerleader. Her squad can be regularly seen supporting the local basketball team, the Plymouth Raiders.

Jersey

After my very enjoyable trip to Guernsey last year, I headed off to Jersey to cover the Channel Islands Dog of the Year competition for Our Dogs. (pictured left is the overall winner for the second year in succession, David & Carol Turner's ASD Ch, Am Ch & Jsy Ch Harmonyhillsatinfunnycideman at Chakona)

Luckily, the weather was fantastic and I was able to shoot a lot of the participating dogs outside. There was enough time on Sunday morning for a quick site-seeing trip around the island, but unfortunately, I didn't really see as much as I would have liked. Luckily, I've been invited back in June to cover the Kennel Club of Jersey's championship show!

January/February

After a lovely quiet Christmas spent with family and friends (and dogs), the New Year arrived with a nice selection of work in the pipeline.

The dog show season kicked off again and included the very well run Cardiff CS 2-day open show and the always enjoyable Wiveliscombe Supermatch.

I also attended the launch of the new Mercedes Benz CLS at MB Plymouth. I know some people struggle to understand my obsession with beautiful cars, but I view them as wonderful pieces of art. So many interesting shapes and forms to capture - just look at the amazing detail in this wing mirror........
